Very cool CoinOp, have you ever tried the pastel pigments you can mix into paints and the like?
I've yet to see them in any of the local craft stores around here, so I haven't had a chance to give them a try.  I'll have to hunt around the artist paint aisle and see if they carry them.
We got ours from online - Blicks has a nice selection.

The Michael's in my area has 2 Golden interference colors - not much, but something. Yay!  Still gotta explore some other places though.

If anyone has any more info they could share I'd love to hear it.  :)

Ooh, those still look gorgeous in photographs, CoinOp! I don't have an airbrush, sadly... I'll just have to make do.

Guess I'll be looking at every craft store in the area. I don't think I've seen Golden at the local Michael's but I'll double-check. It's kind of a shame, they used to have tons of artist-grade paints.  :(

I remember someone a while ago who used Spaz Stix paint on a pony (and it looked AMAZING), which is an 'acrylic enamel'. Would that be safe over time, since it's acrylic-based?
Sorry missed your post, but if it is acrylic based then you could use it.  As long as it is basically soap and water clean up you are safe.

In reference to the powdered interference paint it is awesome for small/raised areas but it tends to clump and would be hard to do a FBR in.

Awesome! They have really great looking colors that have so much potential.

Ooh, definitely good to know. I'd rather spend a little more if it means a better paint job, heh.

Since you are hand brushing, You might try these. I know that they are watercolor based, but if you seal right after you paint I think you should be safe. I personally love these for my paper crafts & they give off a different color when you move the paper. You can buy them in small sizes or large sizes. I think they are amazing. http://www.dreamingcolor.com/twinkling-h2os.html  this company also makes other really cool paint type items. I personally own several of the twinkling h2o's so I could try painting on a pony for you if you would like :) I've never customized a pony before, but I'm willing to try to help you out in any way I can.
