Looking for: rehairing kit
« on: January 06, 2014, 12:52:03 AM »
I want to be able to rehair some of my ponies. SoI'm looking for a rehairing tool, glue to glue the hair in, and glue to get the head back on.

Do I need other things for rehairing? (Except the hair ;) )

And is there anyone who has these things for sale?

Thank you!

You can use an exacto knife for the rehairing tool (replace the blade with a needle that you've cut the end off)
- lot's of spare needles, slightly larger seems to be more durable.
- glue gun for gluing the hair in (low temp gun is good and less damaging)
- wire to pull the tail into the pony (some people use fishing line)
- zipties (both small and large to secure the tail
- hemostats are great for removing hair
- last but not least hair

I think that about covers it  ;)

A good-sized needle firmly planted pointy end into a hand-sized piece of dowel and then with the eye cut across on  a slant makes a great tool, just use common sense about needle size as if they are too thin they snap eaily
Remember kids....don't drink and ebay...

Thank you both for the info.

I am looking for an actual rehairing tool that were for sale here on the arena.
Anyone willing to sell me one? + glue that won't harm the ponies?

I know that BarbedDragon sells them in her etsy store. I'm not sure if anyone else here sells them or not.
