I hadn't heard of this one but I do know how dogs in particular can gauge things, depending on their owners.  They know when they are sick, know when they are in danger.

The story always reminds me a little of Greyfriars Bobby - so sweet and sad rolled into one.

I had NEVER cried so much in my life watching a movie. This was possibly the saddest animal movie I've seen.

It's a beautiful story about true loyalty. Very sad and heartbreaking. I've seen a documentary as well as watched the movie based on it and I cried.

I've been to the spot where Hachiko waited, when I visited Japan in 2007. :lovey: The story is such a lovely one, it's one that I've always liked. I love dogs.
