Congrats!  She's a sweetie! I got her for my birthday when I was little- along with the Satin Slipper Sweet Shop and Slugger.  She was always one of my favorite ponies, though honestly when I first got her I was seriously disturbed by her eyes.  I don't have a picture of her as all my childhood ponies were given to my nieces years ago.

One thing I've noticed about Galaxy is she is really hard to find in mint condition and even in mint condition her hair tends to run on the frizzy side.  It must be the type of hair they used for her or something.

I have a Galaxy I got her in a private swap I did with cyberunicorn and she's in pretty good nick for an old pony 

Although I see her on ebay a bit most of the time she's totally frizzed out. It might be the hair, I've noticed similar troubles with Sugarberry and frizzyness and I've bought a couple of her in the past.

Galaxy is a cool pony though, I'm not a massive lover of hugely pink ponies but she's cool.

Ya, my Galaxy has frizzy hair :s everything else is perfect (in my eyes) but her mane and tail. I wanna wash her hair, but i'm hesitant because G1s already have so many issues :s and I don't wanna screw her up by washing Galaxy's hair

Twinkle Eye ponies are my favorite. I was so happy when I completed the set!

Galaxy is very pretty and I do agree that she is often underrated and overlooked.

I made a G3 TE of her a few years ago.    She's the only one of the set I kept.

She used to be one of my favourite cartoon characters. Unlike other unicorns, Galaxy had the gift of premonition. I think she's still popular but not as much as others like Fizzy or Mimic. She is actually one of the more interesting looking pink ponies around. Like others, my greatest beef with her is that she develops regrind problem over the years Can be very heart wrenching. Good thing is she is not difficult or expensive to replace.

Mine was a Christmas present in 1985 and I remember thinking her hair colour combination was so vibrant and lovely.  She is still one of my favourites

There is no way to know unfortunately. It will literally just be when the plastic starts breaking down - a year after production, 10 years, 20, 30...its a shot in the dark.
