Ponies at a flea market
« on: December 10, 2013, 02:04:11 PM »
So I found this cool little flea market near me and there was at least one vendor who had ponies. Well he had tons of g3s but then he also had a few g1s he was selling 3 for $5

So I dug through and picked up three I wanted and left the rest (I only had $5 cash at the time) I did notice there were quite a few others there in decent shape like the beddy bye eye babies and a few of the ones with twirly tails. My question is is generally what do the beddy bye eye babies go for. I want to rescue them all but I will have to sell some so I can afford Christmas presents lol

BBE baby ponies are worth very little, because a lot of collectors don't really like how they look. Also they often have rust in their eyes which just makes them look worse and can be difficult to clean. :/

Ahh yeah see I was worried about that because I know I really dislike the way they look and its not worth me buying them if they're only worth like $2. Idk maybe ill look into more the condition and go from there. The three I picked up weren't in terrible shape but they aren't in great shape either so the rest are probably in a similar condition

$2-2.50 is the maximum you will normally get for them to be honest and those for the unicorns. The earth and pegs can often go for much less. I so like them but I also understand the general lack of popularity makes them a little unsought after.

Man, I remember seeking bad-quality BBEs for a custom experiment and I had people trying to get me to take their baits for ten dollars and over. I admired their attempts to capitalize on a situation, but...

I would say that it's worth getting them if they're 3 for $5 because that's really cheap. You may then be able to trade them to someone or at least sell them for the price you paid -- just to make sure they are rescued and inducted into the collector community. :)
