Does this seem weird to you?

I have an auction lot of blind bags up on Ebay and the current bidder has 19 feedbacks....the latest from 2004.  It's 100%, so I'm not worried about that...I'm just wondering if maybe someone got into their account and is using it without permission? It just seems so odd that suddenly I'm their first auction in almost 10 years to bid on.

I hope I'm wrong. It just seems weird.

I was inactive for about 6 years before i started up again this year, so...I guess some people just don't use it often, or maybe they lost faith in it and are just dabbling again, or a parent has given permission to their child to choose their own Chritmas present. Lots of options, but who knows? Just watch and see what happens, i guess

I know I'm being paranoid over this, especially since I just had to open two cases on the last round of auctions.  I think I dropped off the ebay map myself for a couple of years - mainly because I had no money at that point!  Maybe they went through the same thing?

I'm just hoping I don't get a message later "Oh my kid/sister/brother/alien in the closet got into my ebay account and bid on your auction and I don't want the item". I can't imagine that happening either - would you have your ebay pw stored for that long? LOL. We'll see.

We as sellers can't let the jerks win. As long as we still have a choice between re-posting or offering to the next bidder, i think we'll be ok. I do wish there were something we could do about all the nonsense, but i think it will have to be a mass uprising on the part of the sellers to put our foot down and say "that's enough!"

I can't speak for them but I know I took a long hiatus buying ponies, almost 8 years or so... and probably hardly used ebay except on and off, perhaps they're just getting back into ponies?

I agree it does seem odd. It's possible like others have mentioned they were taking a hiatus from buying. It could also be that it's Christmas time and they are buying a gift for someone.

Have you did a search under their user ID to see if they have bid and won anything over the last 15 days?

*giggles* well it wouldnt surprise me with some of the stuff you hear from ebay buyers these days   but i hope that no-one is messing about and the sale is genuine   Some people just take a long time away from collecting and then get the pony bug again - or as others mentioned , it might be for a pressie for their kid/friend/alien (lol) or whatever who has just got into ponies

I spoke to him last night (he won and paid) explaining we're in the middle of some winter weather, and it turns out they're for his daughter. I feel silly for being suspicious, but oh well.

I am glad everything worked out babylofty. It's better to be overly suspicious then under because you never know these days on eBay.
