So, I wanted to give you guys a heads up about this seller. It's kind of a long story... she's been trying to sell a large lot of MLPs on craigslist here in Portland (the lot is mostly G1 but also has G2s and G3s in it). She posted it up several weeks ago with an asking price of $200. Each week she has reposted the lot on craigslist for a slightly lower price ($180, then $160, etc). When she reached the price of $120 I responded, and offered her $60 (frankly the lot isn't worth much more than that, most have haircuts and look pretty mangy). We went back and forth a little bit, and she told me "I can't sell for less than $80, I bought them a few weeks ago and I paid $80 for them at a vintage toy shop." I told her my offer for $60 stood, but IMO the lot isn't worth $80 in the shape it's in (plus there's the fact she insisted I drive out to her, 35 mins away). Then she told me "it doesn't matter, it's on Ebay anyway and there are lots of people watching it so I'm sure someone will bid."

I've been watching the auction on ebay for several days, it was originally listed at $120 plus $20 shipping, and she keeps altering it, yesterday it was at $100 plus $12 shipping, and now it's at $98 plus $15 shipping...I dunno, it's a little bit screwy. Anyway, the auction has less than 24 hours on it now, and no bids, so I thought I'd reach out to her again (in her craigslist ad she specifically made it sound like a cry for help, saying she "needs cash to pay bills," so I thought perhaps she might reconsider an in-person cash offer). I messaged her through ebay, telling her I was still interested and could still come to her and pay $60 cash for the lot.

She messaged me back and was very rude; I guess she had mistaken me for another person who had responded via craigslist, because she accused me of being "the one who wanted to cherry pick ponies from the lot and pay only a few dollars per pony," which was honestly not me, I wanted the whole lot for a flat (fair) price. I tried to explain that that wasn't me, and I said "I'm sorry you might not be able to get your money back, but honestly these ponies just aren't worth $80 in this condition." She responded ruder than ever and said "I never said I paid $80 for those ponies, that is ridiculous, I only paid $20 for them!"

So, bottom line, she is rude, IMO unreasonable, but she for sure 100% lied to me about how much she paid for them (I went back and re-read the text I had gotten from her in which she told me that she couldn't accept less than she paid, $80). I understand that this might not necessarily make her the worst ebay seller ever, but...she definitely lied at least once, and I wouldn't trust her!! (Hopefully no one will bid anyway, like I said I don't think that manky lot of ponies is worth her asking price.)

Thanks for the heads up! Her behavior definitely is strange to say the least.

wow! i went and checked her out. and yeah. looks like she does it as some sort of business.
all her stuff is over priced.

didn't see anything in the pony auction even worth it.
part of me wants to offer her 20$ for the lot, but i'm afraid she might take the deal.
and there are a few ponies i don't have, but none that i want.
the price is now down to 80$

what i don't understand, is she's obviously buying the items to sell for a profit, why in the world would she tell someone how much she paid for it? craigslist i get a little, though she did lie, but on ebay?
hey i'm asking 100$ for this but only paid 20$, but you'll spend the extra to line my pockets, right?
gleef. sometimes i just don't understand people.
