I stay home on Black Friday! Too many crazed, deal obsessed shoppers fighting over cheap televisions for me! Though if TRU or someone magically found a warehouse full of old stock G1 ponies & playsets I'd be fighting with the rest of the shoppers to get my hands on some :)

You'd have to somehow beat the employees to those G1s first! I totally had a dream about finding G1s at work last night! Begged boss lady to buy them on the spot.

i love black friday. it's my own personal sport.
it was one of the many things i missed when i lived in japan.
i don't believe people should work on thanksgiving or Christmas, but working retail for over 20 years, i've worked my fair share of "fun days" so i sympathize with those working, and appreciate the sacrifice.

Eh it's not always a choice sacrifice, it's either you work this day or get fired on the spot.

i understand that, and that's what i sympathize with. it wasn't always like that. i don't think that people should work on holidays where everyone else is closed.
Spoiler
some people like to work on holidays cuz you get time and 1/2. i know i usually did cuz my family celebrate on different days. so i wanted to make sure someone who wanted it off could have it off.
but black friday isn't a holiday. i think it's ridiculous and wrong that its bleed into thanksgiving. its a family holiday, not a shopping holiday. but if i want black friday off i need to take a vacation day to get it off. at my retail job we aren't allowed to ask for it off, but because i only work weekends they can't schedule me for black friday. but i work all the other holidays as a favor to people who do celebrate them. Christmas eve, new years eve, 4th of july. etc.

Here's the walmart ad I posted in the 'out now & coming soon' thread awhile back, because there's a new Twilight doll there.

Through the Mirror, Princess Funrise Plushies & that huge talking Twilight featured.

I have not even seen the Twilight Sparkle doll before. I wish there was a better picture of it.

In my state the stores are not even allowed to open on Thanksgiving.

I watch Extreme Couponing Black Friday episode...I am eternally grateful we do not have this tradition over here :P

There was a Target list floating around as well - including a Twilight EQG doll and the new Princess plush [at the same price as they are currently]. Not sure if thats for Black Friday or just general though.

The whole Black Friday thing is a bit embarrassing to me as an American. XD I'm just thinking, "Please don't look up footage of people running over each other to get into a crappy Walmart at 4 AM, pleeeeaase..."

I feel the same way! I don't do this at all. I am thankful for what I have and don't need other stuff in my life

What I don't understand is that a lot of people will use there credit cards to get this stuff on sale. And then turn around and make payments on at Credit Card and have to pay interest on that stuff. Unless they are able to pay off the whole thing in full.  You are not really getting a sale in the long run. I have to laugh when I think about it. I think that holidays are getting to crazy and its all consumerism anymore.
When I was a kid there was no Christmas stuff out before Halloween. And right before Halloween thanksgiving stuff would come out. You did not hear or see Christmas stuff until the week of thanksgiving. And then Black Friday was a big thing! There were not much for sale before black Friday. Now its all going on before Halloween even gets here! Thanksgiving is a thing of the past anymore.  Guess we don't want to give thanks for what we have but only think about things that we need........... I mean WHAT!

No wonder people are so stressed out and angry anymore. We do this to ourselves! We need to stop and stand back and look at the whole picture. Family, friends and pets are way more important then some TV or some PS4. Those things only make you happy for so long.

Sorry for anyone that has to work on Thanksgiving and black Friday. I know that I will not step a foot in any of them stores then. I work on thanksgiving and I knew that a year ago and I accept it. But I will be spending time with my family when I get off or work. I work in the health field so there is no way out of it. I get to spend time with my pts that don't have family to come and see them.

Well I poked around eBay and it seems she isn't articulated *shrug* but has extra long hair with tinsel.

I'm from RI. The funny thing is one state over they are opening on thanksgiving.
