Sold a pony playset and just got this email:

 Hello starhopper,
My granddaughter has been loose on my computer and I need to cancel this sale.
Im sorry in advance for any inconvenience.

I never believe people when they give this excuse. Sounds more like buyer's remorse to me

If you cancel, they are still able to leave feedback. If you open a non paying bidder on them, they can't once you close it. Maybe if you open the case on them, they will be more careful about bidding. I think it's sad that people just assume you will Cancel their transaction with you because "oops it wasn't me".  I agree, I find it hard to believe.  Sorry you got a time waster.

such  an old ebay excuse,  I have received  at least   5 of these  in the last 3 months

One time I did cancel  the transaction , the other times,  i filed non payment cases on the following ones,  these and the non payments plus  the  bidders retractions are just what makes ebay a mess

This! I have had it happen too. "Oh my daughter just purchased a $100 from your store by mistake."    I used to buy the excuse but anymore unless I know them or have done business with them before, do I cancel the transaction. While I understand that mistakes happen, it is your responsibility as a parent to know what your children are doing.
