Wow, are you honestly implying that I'm a troll? I, along with others, could genuinely not tell that this was supposed to be a joke, and when I responded originally I was not intending to be a "kill-joy", as you so rudely put it, I was asking a legitimate question. I was not being inconsiderate, I was curious why someone would make a thread that I thought was supposed to be in earnest (because again, in no way did I glean any humor from your original post), and yet go on to imply that anything other than their opinion was somehow lesser. I have never talked to you before so excuse me if I don't catch onto your "quirky" sense of humor, but please do NOT call me a kill-joy or inconsiderate when my initial post was to simply trying to understand where it was you were coming from.

Though I do love some of the earth ponies, I'd still trade them for a new species. As a child, I always thought they were the least special because pegs could fly and unicorns had magic, but the earths couldn't do anything apart from talking. However, they're also the building blocks for everything- add wings on an earth, and you get a peg and add a horn, you get a unicorn; so that makes them somewhat essential, but I still want to see some X factor to make them a league of their own.

Mmmmmm I think you need to chill. He was having some banter fun and you took him too seriously. I don't know how to resolve such a problem because if you are offended, it's either you quietly back away or make a huge deal out of it, neither of which sounds like too good an option it seems if you are keen to make a point. I find you a bit hot headed as well because you didn't exactly put your point forward in a nice way at the beginning. When you ask how was what he said funny, I took it that you meant he wasn't funny and felt the response was a bit blunt and in the face. Like you said, some things can come off the wrong way in text without tone or expression, so let's bury the episode, and live and let live.

Personally, I did find his post funny and he was using some puns, so I could tell some things are meant to be slightly sarcastic or intentional for dramatic purposes. I mean can you really take the post seriously when he described the 3 different types of ponies as "dirty, wingy and horny"? I didn't think someone would take that in earnest... but seems like something he said rubbed you the wrong way. Manimal has been around for some time, and some of us are used to how he writes. He can be a bit of a stirrer but always harmless and fun. Not to say that you can't feel offended by what he says, but rather seeking for your kind understanding that no matter what you say, he'll always be Manimal and you end up wasting your breath over something trivial (I'd say save it for a bigger occasion). Just play the bigger person and sunshine will always be on your side.

Here on the arena I think we all agree that we should be friendly to each other and not abusive to each other.

See this ^

This for both sides. Seriously.

I completely understand that some people would not find humour in the content of this post. But I also understand that the OP and subsequent posts are not intended to be disrespectful...just a peculiar brand of humour.

I am going to suggest - if you dont find it funny, bow out of this thread. And also everyone...and I mean everyone...should respect the opinions in here - whether they get the humour or whether they dont. No one is in the wrong here but its not worth the argument.

Haha, it's just a fun hypothetical :p Perhaps not too far off base though. . . Hasbro can be pretty sadistic! Honestly, I would like to keep the earthies, for the others to push around. And for those of you who said you'd give up the alicorns--honestly, I'd agree with that. Unfortunately, Hypo Hasbro did not give us that choice!

Heathercat, thanks, you're awesome!

I'd give up earth ponies for boys but honestly I'd be happy for single brushables that were not retreads of the Mane 6 and were not only available in giant, expensive multiple-packs that are only available in certain stores.

I miss the days of g1 and, to a lesser extent, the earlier days of g3.
