In the myth isn't she born princess of Thebes (Father is Creon King of Thebes) Omg if Hercules had been made NOW they would have definitely worked with that.

But yes, in the movie canon she seems like she does not belong to a family at all, but theoretically marrying Hercules would make her a Princess and uuurgh my brain is melting. Is there some sequel where they get married? (I gave up on following sequels) I know they do in the original tale and I wont talk about after.

I think Meg, Esmerelda and Jane are just too mature and womanly for the princess line? And Eilonwy and Kida...their films are not popular at all generally.

To be fair, does it say anything about her past in the movie besides her jerk ex-boyfriend? She could well be a princess like in myth, just never mentioned in particular.

Yeah that could be the case! The film is mostly set in Thebes and none of the people there seem to acknowledge anything, though I do think it's possible she was cradle-snatched, or no one cares, it's all possible

Honestly the movie strays from the myth too much to really concider that.  I remember being very very upset when it first came out because I had to study what they deemed were the 'bad guys' when they really weren't.

Plus, in the myth, didn't Hercules brutally murder her and their children?  Wasn't he doing his Labors as atonement for that?  (It has been a LOOOOONG time since Latin class, guys...)  I just remember the movie being off-putting because they got SO MUCH WRONG.

Mulan has always been my favorite!  I cannot begin to tell you how many times I watched my Mulan VHS tape when I was little.  She is my favorite because she is so brave and awesome.  I also love her horse!

Lately I've really been into Rapunzel and Merida.  I'm tired of the mainstream ones. lol  Pocahontas will always be on my list too.
