someone i know and love on the arena had something bad happen to them, and i'm hoping to cheer them up with a certain pony.

i don't want to share too many details here cuz i think they might see it.

Asking for donations would not be allowed, but you could host some sort of raffle to raise funds if that's what you are thinking. Or if you need help shopping or locating a rare item there are several sellers I'm sure could help you. It's hard to know how to help without more information.

yeah understand that.
figured donations was out, but i didn't know about splitting cost. seen it done in swaps a time or two, but wasn't sure. only been able to find one of said pony (but unsaid sorry) on ebay for over 35$...
and i'm sure that can't be the real price. .... not sure what to do.

I think it's unlikely you'll find someone willing to split with you without knowing who the raopk is for.  Swap situations are different because people come together to replace boxes that were lost or never sent.  Everyone knows who's who and why they are shopping for the person.  Everyone is personally invested.  Not like it doesn't happen to give raopk to people you don't know, it definitely does. I just find more often people gift folks they have seen before and that they like or have some affection for.   ^^ But if you want to pm me what pony you are looking for I'll help you look.
