Private Custom Army Swap with Shiromisa

While we were waiting for the official swap to start, Shiromisa and I did a private swap. We decided to stick to blind bags. I made this girl for her Flitterheart army. Pics first then the blah blah blah . . .

To start with, I have to give thanks to Salli for inspiring this style with her Sugar Plum Fairy and for being kind enough to let me copy it.

So, the pony is not actually attached to the stick (although I do have a new idea now for a pony that IS attached to a stick) it just worked out perfectly that the skewer fit into that little hole in her foot and made it SO easy to do all the painting without trying to find a way to hold onto the little bugger. I carved the hole for her tail with my exacto knife, which I DON'T recommend because it's all ragged and ugly, but it works. I made her wings from fused bubblewrap with glitter in the middle. I'm really excited by this technique, especially since this is the first time I've gotten it to work the way I wanted. I still want to find a way to make the edges nicer, but overall I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

This was a fun girl to make, and I'm delighted that Shiromisa is so happy with her! (Now post the Butterscotch you made me so everyone else can bask in your awesomeness too! )

Eeeeeeee, I love this pony so much! Her tail is curling right now, and then she's taking her rightful place with my army. I'd never even thought of adding a tail to a blind bag, too cool!

Thanks everypony! I'm always so happy when experimental stuff turns out well! I might have to do some like this for Christmas ornaments. Hmmmm . . .
