Reptiles (other than snakes) don't freak me out, but I don't want to just play with then either.

Least a pumpkin is dead and not going to squirm about on me.

I'm fine with reptiles... My sister's friend has a bearded dragon named Gonzo. Pumpkin guts are another story. For a school project we had to degut pumpkins IN CLASS. With no gloves and count the seeds. One the worst moments if my life.

I honestly think my almost phobia of pumpkin guts is because I didn't carve a pumpkin for Halloween until I was in college. Any pumpkins my parents bought growing up my sister and I painted to look like jack-o-lanterns so mom could hose them off for fall decorations!

Plus, one of my current 'critters' is George, a 19+ year old leopard gecko I've had for 18 years.  Kind of desensitizes you to small quick moving critters.

I love gutting pumpkins! Feels cool.

I don't like slithery creatures... I'd pet a lizard but snakes creep me out.

I never really described a reptile as slimy lol.  Snails and slugs now those are slimy and yucky oh I will never be touching one of those.  I can't handle that feeling.  Reptiles...I would hold a reptile any day.  Pumpkin guts...well...the smell is harder for me to handle than the guts and, they sure are a lot of fun to throw on someone's head. Wink

I think only people who've never actually touched a reptile might describe it as slimy. I don't mind touching either, but they're very different.
