g1 Bowtie with blue hair??

Sorry if this is the wrong board, I'm new.

Today I collected a big box of ponies from eBay. I have quite a few duplicates, including 3 Bowties.

Strange thing is, one of them has a blue mane and a blue tail.

I've been searching all day for something vaguely similar. The closest I can find is a Columbian variant, but the symbols are the wrong colour.

Basically, she's typical Bowtie blue, white freckles, purple eyes. Mane and tail are a turquoise blue, 6 pink bows on each rump.

Her feet say Hasbro pat pend Hong Kong.

She's in great condition. I'm thinking she 'must' be a re-root, but there is nothing to suggest that's the case. (Although I wouldn't know, I've never seen one)

Does anyone have any ideas?

my guess is she has been rehaired, if you pop off her head you will be able to tell

Sounds like a possible rehair, but I would love to see pictures!

Ok, just looked inside. The tail seems to be bound with a brown shiny thread. The mane is attached with lots of tiny knots. Some have dark bits in the knots, but it's hard to tell.

There was a thin layer of glue between the join of the neck and head.

If it is a re root I'm very impressed!! : )

Yep, she's a rehair. Congrats, it sounds like she's a good one!

Yep, if there are knots inside the head, she is definitely a rehair. A pony with factory hair will have little V shapes wooven together in a line (like knitting).
