I customized some Lunas for myself!
I am really glad she already has a lot of merch, but I wish at least one piece of the merch was show-accurate!
I don't have a real preference between S1 Luna and S2 Luna... I like the blue-violet coloring of S1, but the perpetually moving sparkly mane of S2. So I just did S1 coloring with a sparkly mane.

It's twice the size of the regular Unicornos, so it was pretty easy to work with. It was nice to not really have to deal with facial features, either!
I first sprayed it with white primer, then laboriously layered up cheap craft store acrylics until I was happy with the color and I had neatened up everything. Then I sprayed it with a matte sealant. I went a little overboard with it and some parts looked "dusty", so I wiped it down with a wet rag and now I like it fine.

loginThis Luna used to be Cadence! I masked off her tiny little eyes with masking tape (I knew there was no way I could freehand it and have it look good) and sprayed her with white primer. It was the exact same process as the Unicorno, I painted both at the same time. I specially mixed the bottles of paint to get those exact hues of cyan and blue-violet. Halfway through I decided it was too blue and remixed the paint and repainted them both. I used the tiniest brush to repaint her irises, I almost didn't do it because I was afraid I'd mess it up. I also touched up the white in her eyes, it was sort of pinkish because of the underlying plastic color.
Can I just say what a pain in the butt her mane area was? There are parts that are so hard to reach, like between the mane and wings that I had to fix a lot of stray paint marks.

I just need to learn rehairing stuff and buy the tool off someone and then I can expand my repetoir.
Hope you enjoyed looking at my work!
