I'm so glad you found her! She looks absolutely lovely. I love seeing restores... they are like stories with happy endings. I never would have guess sunfading could work so quickly.

You did a marvellous job! I'm currently trying to sunfade pink highlighter marks from a Sky skimmer. Figured I'd try it with a cheapo pony before even considering the expensive ones :)

She's gorgeous!!! You did a great job. I love Wind Whistler, I just wish her hair colour will stick and last. I redyed mine but her hair still faded over the years. It's very annoying. I've been thinking about rerooting her with a more permernant pink colour like DH Pink Sugar. I'm not selling her ever so I guess that it makes it ok? lol

Thanks guys. I guess it's risky as we don't yet know the long term effects of sunfading but on this lady it was worth it, in the short term at least.

I think the texture always looks different when a pony is re-haired. How did you re-dye it? Do you know of any good tutorials for re-pinking?x

I've repinked many ponies and use the RIT dye method you can see here: http://mlppreservationproject.webstarts.com/hair.html

Works great! The only thing you have to be careful of is with so-softs. When they say don't get any of the dye on the flocking, they mean it! I repinked my SS Wind Whistler with a bunch of other ponies and uh....the flocking on her head now has a light pink tinge to it. >.< I was trying to do it the careful way of just combing the dye into her mane and not dunking her head in like you can do with NSS ponies, but I just wasn't patient enough. I figured if I made sure not to have her head in too long and I immediately rinsed her off well with cold water that she'd be ok. Not so! lol! Woops!

Well, at least all my other ponies came out great with no ill effects from the dye. I did many different colors of ponies and none of their bodies were at all affected by the dye (you just want to rinse them and their hair really well with cold water after they've been dyed just to be sure).

You can also re pink with watercolours - you get a better colour to the original than you do with rit dye :)
