MLP Fabric
« on: July 25, 2013, 09:50:04 AM »
Hey all, I have been collecting bed sheet fabric for crafts like making a Crazy Quilt from all popular 80's cartoons toys ect.

I am finding retro Strawberry Shortcake fabric
But I never find and G1 MLP
So has anyone elce come across G1 retro fabric?

If not How do not spend more than $30 on a UK MLP bed sheet?

Not the one with the collector ponies but the
white background with ponies all over.

I bought some fabric because it was a really good price. I thought it was the whole sheet, but it was only part of one. I didn't really understand about how fabric was measured which is why I got confused. Now I have part of a sheet and no idea what to do with it!

It does not turn up too often and it is popular - that means it does tend to be pricey.

I am sure you will find some if you keep an eye out on ebay but you should expect it to be expensive even for single covers.

I have picked up some small pieces on ebay 12 inch square bits.  My friend makes and sells cushions, fabric (Cath Kidson style) bags and aprons etc, I am giving her the fabric pieces with the intention of making a handbag from them!  These pieces only cost me a couple of £'s each.

I have a G1 sheet set in my collection but I bought it locally from the classifieds. They are hard to find and will usually go for pretty decent prices unless you get lucky and find a low BIN on eBay or something at a yard sale or thrift store.

Yeah I have a paradise estate sheet with a small tear that I got for $15. It tends to go for heaps more though, I was pretty lucky!

So far I have
care bears, Strawberry shortcake, Popples, Herself the elf, MLP blue and white clouds,
teenage mutant ninga turtles, Rainbow Brite.

We are making 2 quilts one to sell and one to keep.
They are going to be random but matching. I need more lol!
So hoping I come across more.

And sometimes people make like skirts and dresses out of it, like on Etsy.

I found a flat sheet at my local thrift store, sold at the second RI Fair.  So they are out there, you just need to keep looking.

In my 5-6 years of hunting, I have only ever come across 1 g1 sheet. Tons of SSC, Care Bears, some Pound Puppy..Rainbow Brite, Ghostbusters, even a vintage McDonalds comforter.. but only ever 1 MLP sheet...a faded fitted one.
