Medley Variation? Lighter and Darker Color???
« on: June 27, 2013, 12:04:38 AM »
Ok I just received a nice Minty Medley in a lot off eBay - I was going to check her with my shelf pony then clean her up for the Fair. - Well while checking her with my shelf pony ... I noticed something.

The one wearing the ribbon is my original the one next to her is the new one - I know Bow-Tie has a lighter and darker variation - I have four of them on my shelves... But Medley is a new one to me....

oh yes yes, at first i thought the darker was the straight hair one (yr 2) and the lighter was the curly hair re-release (yr3) but now i have two of the lighter versions one with curly one with short straight hair, so now have three different variations of her, its definitely not fading as its a solid all over colour difference.
also the darker is almost a teal then green sage

Oh wow - that is actually quite the difference in shades. She is beautiful though - I really like Medley. She is a sweetheart of a pony - perfect colors! In any shade! :)

Are you certain the lighter one just hasnt had her hair cut?

The colour difference to me looks just like the Y2 v Y3 difference. So perhaps the newest one was either haired with a shorter length or had her longer hair chopped at some point?

that's what I thought it might have been at first but her hair is pretty consistent with my other strait hair Medley's and not straight even across the tail like it would be if the hair was actually cut. Maybe she's from late in the run of year 2 when they were switching dyes on Medley for year 3?

If its not a trim and I had spotted her on ebay I would honestly have said she is a rehair. Its odd that her head/body are quite as mismatched in colour. Have you had a chance to look inside her in case she is a darker green inside and her issue is some kind of fading? I ll admit that my short hair Medley is no where near as intense a green as the girl you have pictured. So perhaps she is more prone to fading that I thought?

Either way...a pretty cool find! :)

just pulled off her head - the neck was still sealed. -She's that same shade inside as out. I think I'll take both of them to the Fair as my show off ponies..

I also have one that is really dark like that.  My longer haired one has a lighter body which is similar shade to your lighter body one.  It's interesting the difference between them.  And they both look great!
