Or, well, a horse. But he's a smallish horse!
Anyway, some of the barns in this area (including mine) do a yearly 'fun show' where things are more relaxed than they would be at a regular show, and most of them include a costume class at the end of the day - which is right up my alley, because I
love sewing and cosplaying! We only use horses who are fairly easygoing and comfortable with the extra gear - we don't force it on young horses who aren't experienced, or horses who are shyer/spookier, etc. (I usually even try to pick the horse who'll be most comfortable with the parts of a given costume, since some will put up with more than others. My regular ride, the little guy down there in my sig, probably would NOT have taken well to today's!)
A few months ago, I realized while rewatching 'Luna Eclipsed' that Luna's guards have dragon-like wings, not regular pegasus wings, and I remembered - "Hey - my best barn friend's horse already has a set of those wings from another costume, and she loves it when I use him! I should do humanized Luna and her pegasus guard this year!" (I may have wanted an excuse to make a Luna-esque outfit, anyway. ^^; )
Soo... After two straight weeks of work (sometimes up to twelve hours a day! X_x ), multiple last-minute disasters, and a panic attack when I found out the horse's owner was
not at the show and had not left me the wings (she did come through for me before the class, but not until I'd made a backup set out of posterboard and sharpies I found in the concession stand ^^; ), I would very much like to show you: Princess Lunacake and Joey the Incredibly Tolerant Wonderguard!

His mom was holding him there, but that was just so I could get up and get settled. I
am completely functional in that getup!

That's an Actual Corset, back-lacing, boning, and all, though it was done with costume-grade supplies and not the fancy stuff. I'd wanted to try and get a proper blue wig originally, but I decided the horn was more important - it's just a local show, and it would have taken soo much more time to get into (and I was already doing the headless chicken thing trying to get ready). Most of the horse half of the costume is just posterboard, broadcloth, and various scraps from the scrap box - I had to take a few liberties with style and colour because I was exhausted and only had so much of a budget anyway. >_< But everyone liked it! That's why we came home with
this!visitors can't see pics , please
