need tips on buying a pullip
« on: June 08, 2013, 02:48:00 PM »
So, I've finally found a Pullip that I've decided I just have to have
the upcoming classical Alice

she will be my first Pullip  ^.^

preorders are on ebay and pullipstyle
is it best to buy a preorder? or wait till she comes out? are their sellers or sites I should buy from or stay away from? what price range should I hope to find her in and how much shipping is normal?

thanks in advance for any help!

Wooo Roogna! Come join us in the dollhouse >:c muhahha

Alice is soo lovely! Ill definitely be getting her too. All in all stay away from ebay unless you manage to snag a good deal on a used doll (which does happen) but generally their prices are seriously overinflated. The two sites I know and trust are first of course pullipstyle, who is the major retailer, and pullip doll dreams is great as well. She's a regular release so she's in the $100-115 range.  That's about average, some of the more elaborate dolls are more, like the steampunk series because of their costumes, but most fall in that range. Both sites charge around $10 to ship, and pre-order if you can since new releases can sometimes sell out fast once they come in stock. That way you're guaranteed one as soon as possible.

That's about it  ^.^ happy to answer any more questions

It just depends on what AGA decides the official US release date will be, they're beholden to whenever they get shipped from Korea. At the very bottom of the description it'll tell you, ex. "This product is estimated to be in stock by Friday 28 June, 2013." That's for Alice. Generally they get them in sooner than the estimated date though  :)

I'd say just be careful, pullip stocks tend to be really fragile and things get pulled off easily. Accessories just falling off when you open the box are kind of par for the course with pullip generally. The dolls themselves are pretty hardy minus their hands falling off really easily.  I usually just cut the plastic on the back and just gently pull them out.  ^.^

I should not have ventured into this thread. She's so gorgeous! It doesn't help that I'm an Alice nerd. :yikes:

Valley of the Dolls is gone, I think :(
I've not ordered from Pullipstyle (yet) but they have a great reputation! I ordered Tiger Lily Byul from Amazon for a song. I love her skin tone, but I broke her arm at the rotating joint under the shoulder :(. Pullips are fragile! I glued it back, and you can replace their bodies with Obitsu bodies which might be sturdier (have not tried that) but unfortunately Obitsu doesn't make a dark tan body that I know of.

I'm saving up for a Pullip myself! I'll order her from Pullip Style. Alice is lovely and she'll make a great first choice! Show us pics when you get her!
