furniture auugghhh

i literally spent..two hours or so trying to put together a shelf for my bathroom so my towels won't be sat on by cats..lol.

 i get it done.. go to put the door on.....


and it doesn't fit. as in the door itself is too small the hinge basts won't stay in their holes, the hinges wouldn't even keep them lol.


so right now.. i think i'm gonna turn it into an impromptu pony shelf until my sister comes and fix it like she claims


who else hates putting stuff together?

Furniture with a gazillion little screws hat nearly look all the same. Depends on what it is but yeah it sucks putting anything together that requires a 50 page booklet and 5lbs of hardware.

I've been professionally assembling furniture for many years, I thoroughly enjoy it, and I have yet to encounter something that I couldn't build. Don't get me wrong, I cringe when I see an office furnished entirely with IKEA. It's fine to build and use, but don't ever move it!

Maybe office workers up here just abuse their IKEA furniture. I wish I were making this up...I watched a guy disassemble an IKEA reception desk. He sneezed and the desk fell apart.

Our IKEA furniture has been pretty good (we have a dresser and I have a bookshelf/desk combo). Pretty sturdy too and fairly easy to put together. The shelf was missing its instructions, but IKEA has everything on their website - so I just downloaded it and plopped it in dropbox so I could pull it up on my phone. But shelves are pretty easy - once you get the first shelf in, the rest are all the same instructions.

lol i don't have an ikea down here so nothing like that,  mine was more WHY DOESNT THE SCREWS FIT.. and before anyone says it..yes they were the right ones lol, the holes that were drilled in were too small :<
