so me and my twin sister have been house hunting and might have found one. I am not certain yet but we are hopeful but not too hopeful. So do any of you have any advise on being a first time home owner?

Good Luck! The entire process of buying a home can seem overwhelming. Take everything as it comes, and get a good inspection right from the start. Accept that things will break or malfunction even in a newer home...it happens and it is all part of the package. I hope you two are able to find one that you love.

The one we are looking at is an 1870 colonial house ,we had a good friend of ours check it out the foundation is good, but it needs lots of TLC. We are still waiting on more info though it is a small house with only two bedrooms.

TLC houses are my personal favorite. If you are handy (or know someone who is), you can really make it your own. It sounds like a neat place!

Good luck!  Project houses can be both really rewarding and a nightmare.

Make sure you have lots of time for a project house!  Also, if the insulation isn't good in it, it will cost a lot to heat and cool.  Best of luck!

well we are waiting to hear about the siding and if they own any back taxes and what not before we say yes. As far as I am concerned I will ask all the questions now rather then jump right in and find not so nice things later. In all if it does not work out we will keep saving and keep looking.

UPDATE: well the owners are still not saying anything so we now have to go to the court house and look up some info, all they will say is we have had it for 3 generations.   well that is nice ... but i need to know do you owe money on it and such.
