That scooter Fluttershy was probably returned to a store by someone who took out the original pony and replaced it with a McDonald's one. I've seen this happen quite a few times with other toylines.

As for the Applejack Barn, I think there must have been a 2nd run of them or something because I bought mine at Ross sometime around December 2011 and mine did not have bangs either.

For those looking for ponies with bangs, don't lose hope.  Last weekend I found AJ at a garage sale for $0.25.  With BANGS!  She was in great condition too.
