I have used floral wire and thin jewelry wire. Be prepared though, it breaks easily. So, don't skimp on how much to get. I've found the jewelry wire actually stands up better than floral.

30-gauge floral wire. It does break, but if it's doing so before you can finish at least a half a dozen plugs your plugs are probably too big. I've been using the same spool for my entire customizing career and haven't run out yet.

Floral wire did last me quite a bit. But I moved and lost my package, and when I went to get more, I couldn't find the kind I had used. So, I had to find something different. I like the jewelry wire. I used one piece of floral wire for an entire embriodery floss rehair and it was nice.

I like doll needles myself but I use 30 gauge when rehairing with wire.
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.
