Loose and mint.  I love them on the card but I have to have one loose or I'll go crazy wanting to set the poor thing free... especially if the plastic has yellowed.  I don't think I could stand that.

Loose and as minty as can be. I'd love a few carded G1's but being able to afford them. Not going to happen. Besides I like having them out and about, not boxed up.

Though my only two G4s are boxed, more because of my kitten. Than my own preference.

I prefer things to be nice and new, so I can be the first one to own them out of the box and not have to wonder where it's been or what it's been into. But, not being made of money, that's just not a plausible option for G1s. And even loose, genuinely minty G1s can be pricey....

G3s I refuse to buy loose, since it's still possible to buy them MIB for reasonable prices.

Loose and complete for me :) But to be honest that can be as expensive as MOC/MIB depending on the pony sometimes.

I am an obsessive "completionist" so if I dont have a pony loose and complete I will pick it up MOC/MIB and then once I complete the pony loose, I sell on the MOC/MIB items.

There are some items I keep MOC/MIB however and there are also a handful of boxed items which I doubt I ll ever manage to find loose!
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I feel exactly the same here. My only issue is room, but hey I'll figure it out. I'm looking forward to be able to actively buy ponies again apart from my swap partners ponies. I sold some ponies today to a collector who lives near me. :frolic: so pretty much I'm in a happy place with my collecting at the moment.

If I want a pony that has everything, then I want her (or him) to be MOC. Normally I don't care about accessories, but I consider packaging to be an accessory.

Loose, mint with accessories. I want my free-range herd with all their accessories so I can see them, touch them and style their hair

In an ideal world.......both! I'd have them all MOC/MIB and then a mint duplicate of them all loose as well. No accessories necessary though. That would make me a very happy Sunlight-Lapin!

Mint with or without accessories. I don't collect MOC ponies. I think they're much easier to display loose and I like to being able to touch and hold my ponies. :]
G1, G2 and G3 collector. I also collect a bunch of other stuff. (Too much..)
