Model Paint?
« on: April 14, 2013, 06:04:23 PM »
Hey guys,

I'm curious what people's experience has been with model paint? I know tempera is pretty popular and it looks like factory paint when done in thin layers, but I'm curious if anyone has found that model paint works either just as well or better?

I'm considering work with some of the smaller toys like the bling bag models but they don't seem to take paint as well as larger ponies.

Does anyone maybe know Hasbro's brand?

Thanks!

Acrylic paint seems to be the most successful paint for bonding with pony plastic.  The Blind Bags do take a few coats to get good coverage.  I would avoid enamel paints as they do not fully cure and are often permanently sticky.

As far as brand, almost any acrylic paint does well.
