Yellowing a pony...
« on: August 25, 2013, 05:43:43 PM »
Okay I know this might sound a bit weird... but I have a "blue" Baby Ember... and well, she looks like this:

I think you can see how she's discolored pretty well (mostly on the DS, still decently blue on the NDS)... but, okay, so she is what she is. I don't really want to deal with an FBR, cause I stink at them... and I don't know why.... but, anyway, I kinda wanted to turn the REST of her this discolored color...

So, any suggestions? Do I just leave her in the sun? Take her to the nearest smoking bar and ask the owner if I can leave her in the back room? ( lol okay not really, I wouldn't leave a pony with anyone anyway!) but... yeah. I kinda wanted to play off this weird yellow-blue-green color that she has become...

I'm not sure.  Maybe get some rusty pony washers and put them all in a bag of water to sit and wait lol.

She'd make a nice peacock themed pony just as she is though!

A few blue second hand ponies I got recently in Australia have yellow tones - so I reckon sun, but you may not get an even result. Might even require a very long time.

Actually Fairy that's not a bad idea, maybe I can play off that and use her as is... I really like that peacock idea! :lovey:

And I totally agree Starfall - I think it could potentially take years... I mean who knows what conditions she was in before the collector had her that I got her from... so, it's possible she may never turn out the same...

A very British suggestion, but I wonder if rubbing her with a used tea bag would do it? We used to stain paper with tea to make it look old and yellowed...

Or just make a peacock baby!  ^.^

This and the rusty washer idea... they're good. I could lay her in a shallow pan with just her NDS in the tea or rusty water (I think I'd feel more comfortable using tea before trying rust... lol plus I get a tasty beverage!) and maybe leave that out in the sun for a few hours or something?

I still do like the peacock idea, I'm mulling things over in my head as to what I could do with her.... I've seen some mind blowing peacock ponies, and I know this one won't be ANYTHING like that, lol

well you could try some of the ideas... and at ABSOLUTE worst, it turns out horribly and you have to do an FBR, but I don't think experimenting is a bad idea >.>

Agreed, I doubt I'll end up doing something awful to her by trying any of this, and like you said, if not, an FBR is always a fall back. She can always become darker.

What about dying her.... if I put her in Yellow Dye? I know she may not be even but... perhaps I can push her further green completely? Anyone know about that?
