According to the official comics, the baby ponies who have adult counterparts were actually born through a magic mirror!Basically saying they are the Ponies reflections come to life? The adult ponies then take care of "their babies" as if they were their own children, hahaI guess that's the version I'm going for
I always thought of them as mother and baby. As a kid I didn't think about why they looked so much alike. Years later I made up a story that the baby girls are born looking like their mothers, the baby boys are born looking like their fathers, and when they are adolescents they magically morph into new colors and get their own unique symbol.I mean, I would hate for a grown-up pony to have to go around answering to "Baby Surprise"!Interesting sidenote, on the boxes of the first baby ponies the front would say things like . . .visitors can't see pics , please register or loginIt's "a Baby Moondancer unicorn"? What??
I always thought of them as mommy/baby. Though as a collector I have thought of some of these things too and wish more loving family sets were made. Also wondered about the newborn ponies with rattles/baby bottles, etc. as symbols- when they "grow up" do they still have newborn themed symbols?
