HALP
« on: March 30, 2013, 02:16:56 PM »
I was dehairing a pony, and I was a little bit aggressive with the hemostats -- I somehow managed to poke a hole through the pony's head.  Is there any kind of glue that would be able to fix it, or is my bait pretty much ruined now?

I think that's going to depend on how big the hole is. Pics? *head tilt*
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

Here's a picture. You have to kinda squeeze the head to get the hole to show, otherwise, it just looks like a crack.

you can probably get away with supergluing it shut, and being very gentle when rooting...

That's not so bad. Do you use Fabritac glue when you're done rehairing? I'd rehair around the damage first, and then right before you add the glue put one or two plugs-worth IN the rip (lined up with the preexisting rows of plugs). Then, reinforce with a little bit of super glue along the crack. After the glue dries inside it should hold that "loose" hair pretty securely to the properly rooted plugs.

What Saply says, but I use Gorilla glue.  Run some water into the head, squirt in some glue, spread it a bit with a q-tip.   The stuff expands and grips nicely.

FABRITAAAAAC TIME!! I've used this successfully with MLP and MH splits. Works WONDERS since it stays flexible---you can root right through it if you are careful!

Hmmm well recently i've been filling holes in pony head with Triple Thick, but I haven't fully tested it on a hole like that as of yet... I've got a fakie that I need to use it on in the hairline where the plugs broke
My DeviantArt, why not drop by and take a look!

Liquid Fusion! Its like 5 bucks at Joanns, and stays flexible enough that you could patch a large cut out, and root through it. I had a MH head that I dehaired, that the bangs ripped out a huge patch. The liquid fusion filled the tear, but was still flexible enough to root through easily.

Wow, I'm going to try some of these... I loathe it when I poke big holes in my pony and doll heads!
