KLECT project to expand MLP

[KLECT_MLP]

As many of you know, we launched KLECT in 2010 with MLP and will always look to our MLP users for great ideas on how to improve KLECT.  In 2012, we had some changes in the team that really slowed down improvements or being able to expand the data in the system. I have found a new development partner and am very excited to announce that more changes are on their way in 2013!
In 2012, one success was getting value voting live in November of 2012 so each of you can have control as a community as to what the values of each pony is.
so.... what's next??

We have launched a crowdfunding project to ask our fans and follwers to consider supporting us.
It is noted on our site if you are interested.

The sucess of this campaign will allow KLECT to do the following for our MLP users:

• Allow all users to add missing data to the community IE: nirvana's, newest G4s, etc
• Allow all users to be able to add missing images and other history/notes on ponies (your custom images will still remain of course)
• Adding a sub community for MLP accessories for brushes and other misc items that are often managed or sought for
• Be able to add other collector communities that some of you have asked for (IE: Littlest Pet Shop, Strawberry Shortcake, etc) This gets decided by our supporters in the campaign.
• Finally, some new interface features such as printable checklists for when your heading out to a show, or community stats on how your collection compares to the community. These are a few of the suggestions our users have shared.

With this project, I would ask each of you 3 things:

• Please visit the project link. Your traffic helps move us up to the front page for more visiblility!
  
• Check out the project and consider supporting us. Your support will directly bring more value to the MLP community.
  
• Lastly, please share the word. The more traffic and support we get before the end on March 31st, the better the chance of success.
  
  The goal is to continue to improve KLECT and the user expierence for all of our MLP fans and all users. With this project, I hope that you will all also have a way to inventory any other collectables you might also love in one place. As always, I personally appreciate the support .

Why would we need something like this?  The Arena works just fine thank you very much, with our most excellent mod team, fast price checks and most importantly a cosy friendly atmosphere. 

We already have "control" over what the value of ponies are, insofar as that is possible, which it really isn't.  Prices are set by supply and demand.  Comparing collections?  That makes it sound like a competition, which doesn't strike me as a healthy attitude.

You didn't even bother to read and follow our rules about offsite links.  That's not very nice.

Klect, no worries! I know you did not intentionally break the rules, unlike some people who seem to think that you did. *ahem* There is no need to be mean about it people!

Your website is a nice one, I have the limited version myself. Its a nice resource and an easy way to track your collection from anywhere

No meanness was meant, but it doesn't strike me that they're intending to participate in the community, only advertise their own?  I *thought* that was against the Arena rules; has it changed? If it has changed, I'm more than willing to tender apologies.   

It's just sensible to be wary about anything or anyone that's seeking to monetize.  Business is business, and that's not inherently a bad thing, but it does make for a different set of priorities.

It did come across as a bit hostile-   I agree that the rules are there for a reason, but it's usually best to leave rule-enforcement to the mods?  Just so that people don't get the wrong idea -  we don't want to be one of THOSE communities where members jump all over newbies for real or imagined infractions, right?

I am glad to see your past issues are behind you.  Not sure all the features are needed but always great to have lots to offer.  Love the idea of printable check lists.

I wouldnt mind keeping my Transformers Collection in Klect.  Any plans for that line?

Also.  I tried to add a few G4 Ponies and just can't find them.  Am I supposed to add them without a pic?  Also I need to find Baby Firefly, but not the two that are there... just regular baby firefly.

Thank you for the concern never the less. As for KLECT, we launched it about 3 years ago with help from Summer and her friend (my sister). I was fortunate to attend the 2 of the the last 3 MLP Fairs but missed last year. KLECT is free for users to inventory and see what they have and don't have. As for the new G4's. Hasbro had some changes and the person there who sent me us the data isn't there to send it to me now So, if there are some ponies missing (and there are) you can PM me and we can get them added. Otherwise, once we do this project, you can add the data, and the pictures as you find them.
Transformers? Yep! another Hasbro item Like that. Anyway, those would be awesome to add too.

All,
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU to those that have helped in the support for the rockethub project to fund the additional development on KLECT!
A few things that have been heard and I am looking forward to seeing go live:
* New collection grouping for all MLP Accessories
* LPS collection added
* start of design for an App

The project closes on the 31st, so any and all help is always appreciated. Based on how well it goes, I will update if there are any additional surprises!

Oh man.....I haven't updated my KLECT list in forever. I need to go do that. lol
