Italy brown Butterscotch
« on: March 31, 2013, 07:14:20 AM »
I have bought a lovely italian brown Butterscotch from shelty a few month(or about an year) ago. As she has a little demage to her symbol, I have bought an upgrade a few days ago at ebay. Now I have compared them...is there a "dwarf" version of her? I think the new one(on the right) is bigger... Both have only 2 stamped feets

I had that with some italians before and it just makes me wonder whether they took them out of the mold too "early" (well put them together too early) and because of the heavy head the pony was squashed by its own weight...

Maybe one is a Hunch Back
I have the article Roz wrote about these Saved on my Computer.
Buffy email me and I will get you that including the pictures
This is the Thread less the pictures:

Italian Dwarf Ponies
Italian collector ponies were made in four different molds, and those considerably differ in shape and size. The better manufactured were pretty similar to the FF ponies made in Hong Kong (except they have concave hooves) and I made up the term "dwarf" to refer to them because they are smaller than HK ponies/other Italian ponies.

These are some of the typical features of a dwarf:

- feet are close (those are wide apart)
- hair plugs are sewn close (those are distanced)
- larger rumps comparared to other Italian collector pose molds

To clarify: dwarf ponies have lower head, close together feet and writing on two hooves only. However, also non-dwarf ponies may have writing on two hooves only, the interesting thing is that I have never found a dwarf with writing on all fours.

Also, dwarves always have the PAT PEND while hunchbacks may or may not have it.
should have factory marks on two hooves only,

Peachy 1 - Normal
Peachy 2 - Dwarf (feet are close together and the pony is smaller).
Peachy 3 - Hunchback (the head is smaller than the body).

My Brown Butterscotch is in the "regular" mold with print in 2 feet & a pat pend marking.
If you click the "my collection" link in my signature, I have all of my Italian collectors pose ponies up on my Facebook page & some comparison pics of the 4 different molds side by side. :bigups:
