Just be careful around the painted areas, acetone will take off eyes, symbols and blush too!  :whoa:

A soak in sugarsoap and then acetone works for me most of the time. However, for extreme cases I will admit to using paint stripper - but you have to be careful with ventilation and also with the fact that it can eat into the plastic and leave a pock marked surface if you are not quick.

Sorry...I had this conversation in a thread the other day and I didnt realise sugarsoap was something there was not a direct equivalent for in the US.

Here is its "official" definition - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_soap - it also mentions a comparable but not identical product you can get in the US.

Eucalyptus oil will work too and smells great!! 100% oil will take paint off so be careful.. You should be able to buy stuff that's not 100% oil and it wont take the paint off.

hmm. I may try to find the eucalyptus oil. I'm working on several including a Gusty. She's about done but still sticky. I'm worried about her symbols getting messed up using the acetone.

A lot of people swear by Jasco, which is basically a paint stripper but I think (with being careful) you can soak the pony in it and then gently rub the glue off.

I've used this tutorial: http://www.freewebs.com/unicornucopiamlp/deflocking.htm

Good luck! They look pretty great so far actually :)

They are looking great so far. I am always fascinated by deflocking and consider it an art. An art which I have not mastered yet but would love to one day. Deflocked ponies are so vibrant and beautiful. Thanks for the pics : ) I am sure they will look fantastic.

I use rubbing alcohol in combination with acetone. The alcohol does not strip the eyes/symbols.
