g4 Alicorn problems

So I wanted to do some work with the Celestia and Luna bases. I wanted to resculpt the wings and really deck these gals out. So I began prep as usual and my god removing those wings was HELL! I tried boiling to soften the glue and no luck. I finally got the wings out, but unlike the regular ponies who have a hollow core, the center is not solid. It looks as if the tail was inserted from the exterior. Any thoughts on adding tails to these ladies?

You have to remove the wings to get to the tail.

Edit sorry, got confused. Are you saying there wasn't an entry to the tail under the wings? I could have sworn that's where it's supposed to be....

The access to the tail is taken from the inside of the pony.
They /are/ hollow.

Have you left a bit of the wing plug behind?

Access to her tail is at the back, i just had to fish about with my hemostats to grab her washer.

I've done one and I'm working on one now, and I refuse to do another one if I can't do either a plain ol' unicorn or sculpt wings on it because I absolutely butcher those things getting the wings out.
