I do not have any suggestions as I quit buying from Taobao long ago.  But I will give you a bump!

I've never bought from them either , so not sure of any decent agents ATM, but I think others still buy from Taobao, so I'll give this a for you too

When I ordered my Ditzy Doo and white Celestia prototypes, I used TaobaoSpree, and everything went very smoothly (they even took a picture of my order for me when it came in!) The agents there are extremely helpful, and gave me hints about navigating the pages to find feedback, buyer history on items and other useful tools. I used TaobaoSpree because they accept Paypal. If you have a credit card there's one other site that I hear is good, but I can't recall the name. If you're interested in finding out what this other site is, I suggest contacting Hathorcat she recommended it to me a while back. Good luck figuring out the whole Taobao thing! I know I was nervous my first time ordering ;^^
