Buyer Problems on E-bay
« on: March 06, 2013, 04:12:03 PM »
Hey all!

I need some advice on this. I'm hurting for cash and so I sold my Monster High dolls on E-bay. Well now someone got a set that sold (for a bit much) and they're claiming the doll can't stand! I know he can, I even have photos of him standing by himself. Yet the buyer has a lot more feedback than I do and I feel that Ebay will rule in their favor just because of this. They're claiming his legs are broken so I asked for a picture of it.

I also put no returns in my Ebay auction but I'm afraid they'll file a PP dispute just because they can't get him to stand. Like what are my odds of coming out on top of this if I decide not to simply bow to them and accept the return?

Basically zero chance. eBay almost always side with the buyer on this stuff and will require you to accept the return and then it will refund them from your Paypal.

Maybe suggest they return it for a refund minus shipping (but they don't have to send it tracked), as it's better than what you'll get if they raise a case.

Otherwise, if they raise a case, they'll have to return it mailed with tracking at their expense and then you refund them their purchase price and shipping so you both lose, and the only winner is the post office.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a woman in possession of disposable income, must be in want of a pony.

Sadly she opened a case and Ebay ruled in her favor within less than two hours. I will probably be calling them up tomorrow a few choice words for this bullsh!t. I even provided photo proof that the doll did indeed stand but yeah. The doll wasn't even broken in her photos. His elastic just looked relaxed and I stupidly said that so she took it to the case and said it wasn't as described therefore she won. I am just so angry at how stupid people can be over tiny things! Just...  :enraged:

Wow, suppi that is terrible she used your communications back to her against you.

I get that people are overly picky but these dolls are not meant to stand by themselves all the time anyways, that is why they come with stands. They are also childrens toys and I think people forget that sometimes. Yes, we enjoy them as adult collectors but bottom line they are meant for kids.

I am sorry you had to go through this though.  If I was you I would make sure all the dolls are returned and not just the one. I would make sure you state that in communications back to her or through your ebay case.  Because if they were sold as a set that means they come back as a set, ebay will agree with you on that.

Yeah I believe the entire set has to be returned and if one piece is missing or broke I'm going to throw the biggest fit to e-bay. (Since I found out you can appeal these cases.) I'm just going to use her own words against her for that probably. She sent me a picture of his legs and the elastic but its obvious she's pulling them out of socket. Just because I find this entire ordeal just stupid. >_< I think the entire insult is that I'm still being charged $11 for something that didn't even sell. :/

Oh boy that really bites. I am so sorry.  I tell ya, this is why I really don't like to sell on ebay anymore.  Its a tough place to be these days.

My daughter had a similar experience , but it was this crazy person who thinks priority always takes 2 days. we shipped within the time frame. She claimed the ring's stone had a ding in it,but I don't think thy care if the buyer has grounds for a case they are trying to imitate Amazon , because if you buy something on Amazon, & don't remove it from the packaging, you can just return it if you decide you don't like the item. I bought a jungle fever doll on Amazon once , not knowing she was lightweight & jointed like an obitsu & I just returned her. With the situation with my daughter's ring, we shipped within our stated time frame & though it was sent priority, it wasn't delivered within 3 days, then there was a Sunday & Martin Luther King's birthday & She had wanted it as a gift & I think because she seems to be under the mistaken impression that priority always takes 2 days, she just wanted to send it back. Guess that's why sellers state that they are not responsible for the postal service. She returned the ring & we offered to mail it to paypal , so they could examine it, as this is what they would have done several years ago, but no they didn't take us up on it, so I agree with StarFaerie. My daughter actually screamed at their customer service on the phone about how crummy their customer no service  is about another buyer who bought a MIB doll, then cancelled her payment. We relisted & blocked her & then received like a dozen harassing messages , & my daughter told them, no we were not going to resell to her, sh cancelled her payment , then harassed us & my daughter said it is a security risk to mail something to someone who is harassing you, they said we had a point, but argued with her that she was obliged to follow through, which we did not because she cancelled her payment anyway.
Since they made it so sellers can't leave negative feedback because of the sellers who left retaliatory, there has gotten to be a lot of scummy buyers on eBay.
