My boyfriend has been saying that we should set a holiday sometime soon and go to Paris, since one of his friends is living there. I always said that I would love to, but since I am not yet completely independent from my family, I would feel quite guilty with spending money on the trip. He kept on talking about it for a while and today he just said something in the lines of this:

"I wasn't going to say this yet, but it's best for you to tell your mom. We are going to Paris because that's my birthday gift to you - the ticket!"
