wondering about MH vs Bratzillas

I think MH came first, but there are so many similarities...can Mh and BZ dolls exchange parts/clothing and would you want to? What do you think of BZ?

Depends on which bratz doll you are using for clothes... Most of the Bratz dolls clothing is a little bit big for the MH dolls... They are a bit "thicker"... As far as the shoe exchange, the only ones I have found that can easily exchange shoes with are the Bratzillas dolls... All the others have the pegs that are inserted into the shoes... Personally I am not a big fan of the Bratz dolls... they creep me out... They have really big lips...

MH did come before Bratzillaz; aside from the "supernatural school" theme of both franchises, they aren't that similar. The 'zillaz are all witches (even the new vampire and mermaid characters), and there's a lot more focus on being fashionistas in the 'zillaz world.

The MH dolls can wear Bratzillaz clothing, although it tends to be a bit loose. This is particularly noticeable in the shoes and around the torso, because those areas are rather unique to the MH design. Bratzillaz have a harder time wearing the MH fashions; they have thicker torsos, so the outfits don't fasten properly in the back. It also tends to limit the motion of the legs. And because MH have such long (but fairly narrow) feet with a high arch, their shoes do not fit the 'zillaz properly.

I've never tried to switch the heads, but the skin tones on MH would be hard to match on most 'zillaz. Also, the 'zillaz aren't designed to have their limbs removed, so using them on MH isn't really possible. Well, maybe possible, but not without tools and potentially ruining both dolls.

Hope that answered your questions :)

Personally, I'm a fan of both MH and 'Zillaz'; they have different pros and cons.  The glass eyes in the 'Zillaz are really pretty and so is their makeup, and I like that they twist at the waist and have slightly more natural proportions.  MH stuff is so much better sculpted and more detailed though; all the 'Zillaz faces are the same sculpt, whereas only a couple of MH dolls share the same face sculpt.  MH hands are much more expressive and better-sculpted too.

Bratzillaz also now has "Switch-A-Witch" sets that are like the MH CAM sets.  The wigs and accessories are interchangable between 'Zillaz and MH, and you can switch the heads and the upper arms with MH CAM dolls, though it looks really weird imo.

You should check out the Bratzillaz thread on the Dollhouse board if you're thinking of getting into them.

My neice really likes the MH dolls, but has a hard time finding them in the small town where she lives. I was a little leery of getting her tha Bratzillas in case she saw them as a type of MH "fakie" is all. I like the MH better, too, though I do like the glass cat eyes in the one Bratzillaz doll.
Your info and advice is very helpful. Thank you for it!

I find myself wanting to pick up one of these dolls more and more. I'm especially in love with the glow in the dark dolls.

Can someone who own both the 'zillas and MH post comparison pics of them next to each other etc? I'm hoping that maybe if I get just one or 2 I won't be compelled to buy the rest and can just have the 1 o2 be special characters in my MH world, like adults or cousins or models or someting

Here you go: http://www.flickr.com/photos/49746645@N00/8504345637/in/photostream
Link to my flickr showing CAM and SAW (switch a witch) hybrid capabilities.  Limited but they are there.  There are about 4 or 5 pics in a row along with this one.

Draculaura and Vampelina: You can see the size difference between them, MH is still a lot skinnier in the torso.

Blob Girl wearing a SAW wig.  It's a bit big but it works.  CAM wigs are too small for the Zillaz.

Anyone who has any questions about the Bratzillaz should really check out the Bratzillaz thread over in the Dollhouse.   http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,290155.0.html    The last 4 or 5 pages answer a lot of these questions.

My impressions: The first wave Zillaz felt cheap to me because of their crap nylon hair but the Magic Night Out line redeemed them.  As far as I know all have saran and it makes a huge difference.  I know Jade and Vampelina have saran because I own them and I know Jasmin does as well because my sister has her. The glow in the dark beach line is fun but again the nylon hair is terrible.  The SAW (switch a witch) line is great.  The bodies feel more solid than the earlier Zillaz and their wigs are saran.  Just gorgeous dolls.  I still love MH but I have really fallen for the Zillaz.  I love that they are more 'blank' to me so I can make my own characters.  MH are lovely but they are still MH characters and I have a hard time getting away from that.  I love looking at and displaying my MH ghouls but I find I 'play' with my Zillaz more. They display well with both MH and with Livs, all my dolls get along, I like dolly diversity.. :)

I've just recently fallen for the 'Zillaz. I have four of them with one more on the way! I can tell you that their knee and elbow joints are a little weird. I like them better in pants.

I have one of the budget dolls, and I actually really like her! I think I like her more than the full jointed dolls.
