Face Up Artists
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:32:15 AM »
I've seen some gorgeous MH customs out there and I've begun some customizing of my own...but...I'm terrified of ruining a doll by trying to do the face up myself.  I love rehairing, it's great stress relief, but my confidence ends there and I don't have a steady hand.  I was wondering who the artists were that take face up commissions and I'd love to see some lovely face ups.  I bet I'm not the only one!

I don't know that I would call myself a faceup artist ....but I approach doll faces much like I approach MLP faces

I still approach the eyed with a bit of trepidation.....but I have done a handful of MH faces:

Gorgeous Jupi! May I adl what you use as a sealant?

To the OP... Sometimes a rehair is just the thing to make a ghoul all your own :) I am just about to try my first face up... Nerve wracking but should be fun! I have read a lot of tutorials first. Why not give it a try.... You could be a born dolly artist :)

Are you looking for a face that looks more realistic, or closer to the original MH style? While I can't do a full faceup to save my life, I have had success with just repainting the irises and lipstick. The eyelashes and eyeshadow remain the same, but often, a differently colored eyes and lips make a world of difference!
