How to lighten the color of a G4 pony?
« on: March 02, 2013, 02:14:00 PM »
I don't know if there is a post about this, if there it is, sorry U,U

so I want to lighten the color of a G4 pony (playful pony) and I were wondering with what I could lighten it.

I searched around and some people say that leaving ponies at the sun will lighten them, but I'm not too sure, like, won't the pony lost it's color and fade to a more warm, yellow-ish tone?

and also, Is it safe to leave G4 ponies in bleach (or bleach with water)?

Bleach won't do anything to the pony except harm the plastic. It won't lighten it. Sunfading can take a very long time and is rarely used to lighten a pony's color and I can't even swear that it's ever actually worked short of a few G1s left outside and found deacdes later. It is typically used to lighten marks put onto the top layer of plastic (like ink or marker). With G4s, even if it was successful, the head and body are different plastics would likely fade to different colors. I'm afraid your best bet will be painting. It's the only way I know of to reliably "lighten" a pony's color.

I don't know if it helps, but I sunfaded this pony -> http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/File:Sunny_sparkle.JPG
Until she was almost white. I also was trying to lighten her color. It took a whole summer of leaving her in my car's back window, but the results were pretty drastic.
