OK, I recently (2 days ago) bought Skydancer and Sunlight from ebay - same seller. Ebay asked me to wait for a combined shipping invoice, which I was sent through ebay and I paid as soon as I received it. Today I received Sunlight in a jiffy bag but not Skydancer.  I messaged the seller and she said she'd put them both in the jiffy bag and sent them together.  I then questioned my boyfriend who picked the package up off the floor and he said the bag looked like it had been opened or not sealed properly in the first place.

I understand that the seller cannot be really responsible for postal theft, but I don't think that's what has happened. I think that the (pre-used) jiffy bag had not been properly secured and Skydancer fell out at some point.....

Sadly, I don't think that there is much that can be done at this point.  I shouldn't think I'll get a refund or anything - I wouldn't even ask TBH, the pony only cost me £1.50.  Also regarding feedback, I don't think I'll be leaving negative or neutral feedback either - maybe a note reminding her to pack a bit more securely??

Aww..that's extremely disappointing. 

I would probably message your seller back anyways.  And say although you understand that these things can happen you believe it may not have been properly secured before shipping to begin with as it was a reused mailer.

Because no matter what the seller is responsible to make sure your items arrive to you safely and securely. And if she did not make sure the mailer was secure and it falls out that is not your fault.

Hopefully she will be willing to make things right for you.

I'm so sorry to hear this honey   I almost had the same thing happen, only my ponies were still in the Jiffy bag (sort of! - they were hanging partway out!! ) .   Thats why its so important for sellers to make sure those packages are properly sealed - even using extra tape since Jiffy bags can easily be ripped open accidently or on purpose... .
I agree with Ponyladys advice - to politely message the seller back - with similar wording to what Ponylady suggested (in your words of course)  and hopefully it will encourage them to pack the ponies more securely in future. They should also be willing to give you a part refund since it was their fault the parcel wasnt packed securely enough - dont demand it of them of course, but they will hopefully give you the money back for the missing pony.

I messaged the seller and have had no response yet, TBH I don't expect one either. She seemed rather kurt when I first messaged her to ask what happened to her... I just hope that if Skydancer cannot be with me, she's been found by some kindly postie and has been taken to their home for a beloved daughter or niece.

OMG OMG!! I left a note on the door asking the postie if they'd seen any ponies floating around the depot not expecting anything to come of it.........and just as i got home a post lady rang the bell and there she was!!  I am so happy right now I may cry a little - but happy tears

Aww, I'm so glad you got your Skydancer!! That's wonderful that she wasn't "lost" forever.

I'm not sure what a jiffy bag is but I sure hope the seller doesn't send ponies the same way again. :/

You're sooooo lucky!!!

I've nearly lost ponies a couple of times, and had a few notes inside my packages from Aussie Customs letting me know that the bag/box was torn open when it arrived in the country, and that they had resealed it. I usually shoot the seller a message letting them know that the bag/box was damaged before it even left the country and that they might need to secure their packages a bit more. For me, the problems tend to be with bubble mailers, and all that's left holding the ponies in is the bubble part! Hopefully sellers here put a bag inside the mailer with the ponies in, too... and now I also include the address!
