When selling/trading to another collector, it's comforting to know that the ponies will be loved in their new home and make someone happy. Still, the difficulty of it all depends on the personality of the pony. It's not that hard to part with a Skyflier or a Masquerade, since they are sure of themselves, or a princess, since I know princesses will be loved thanks to their charisma and manners. Many baby ponies are cheerful and flexible and usually adjust to their new environment in no time, as long as they are taken good care of. But I don't think I could ever let go of a Crumpet. She's a sensitive pony who needs stability and a loving home to nurture her confidence. Being adopted out may depress her.

They really will be going to a good home and I'm sure the recipient would be happy. Maybe I should stop worrying and do it, just trade one off and see how it goes. It's not like we couldn't trade back later. We'll see. Thanks for the advice everyone, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels this way!

For me it's the "what if regret it and can't get a similar one back". It's hard so I think a LOT before selling. I have a few I can't get rid of though...

That depends on weather or  not it is a double pony , if I have a double they go to the trade pile.
