Anywhoo...

My mom is a psychologist, and while taking a break from writing her thesis to get her doctorate (she did and graduates in May, woo!), she wanted to do some playdoh molding.  She does this with some of her patients and brings home the neatest things.  I sat with her and made up these two pairs of earrings.  I was just wondering if there would be any interest in something like this among the pony community, or do they need to be more refined/show accurate?  I know my modeling isn't great right now, but I will improve and hoping I can get some constructive and friendly criticism.  Rarity and Applejack had to model next to them, of course. 

Anyway, let me know what you all think!  These could be made slightly larger for pendants or charms for a necklace or bracelet, etc.

Those are really cute! Have you thought about setting up a shop on etsy or somewhere similar? Or maybe a real world market stall? <3

I do have an etsy shop.  =]  I just haven't posted them yet because I've been so darn busy...might go ahead and put them up tonight though so I have them there for perusing customers.  =] 

Thank you! I loved getting to make them...it was a lot of fun. 

Mom has been working so hard on it, and she managed to get the last of her credits and her dissertation done in 6 months before her deadline...she worked so darn hard for it! 

Anywho, glad to know someone else thinks these are as cute as I think they are, lol!

I have been making some jewellery before but it's getting harder and harder to get them sold since almost everyone makes their own nowadays

I know...I understand how that goes.  I've been doing this hobby for years, but there is only a small market for it, and it's not fun to try and push things, especially since I'm super shy in front of people, lol!

I make similar items as a hobby. One tip I can give you is to try blending the clay a bit more to get rid of the cracks like on the apples. The other thing you can do is once the clay is baked (or dry if you're using air dry clay) is use sandpaper to smooth out the fingerprints.

Sadly, I can't prevent cracks in that medium...it's playdoh, so it cracks a bit anyway.  Mom and I have yet to find a good technique to keep it from cracking as it dries.  xD  So far, anything poly clay i've done hasn't cracked....but that's only been a few things.  I'm using up my karma on them though I'm sure.  xD 

Sanding might work afterwards though...I may make something and use it as an experimental piece.  =D 

And now I think I'm going to go start making a bacon and egg pony tonight! xD  Great suggestion, thank you!!

The earrings are adorable - I am sure you ll find lots of interest and maybe there are pony items other than symbols - I can see Parasprite earrings!
