I made a thing! Adventures in sewing...

I've been wanting to learn how to sew for a LONG time, like, years.  But, until recently, I just didn't have the room to undertake a new hobby.  Now that I've moved home, I have some spare room to store stuff so I started to think more about it.  Then somebody just GAVE me a sewing machine...I can't very well just let it sit in the corner and gather dust, right?!?  So I printed out some Blythe dress patterns and took them to my mom's house, so she could oversee the learning process, lol.

What do you think?!  I don't think I did half bad for my first try...I bought lots of little  1/8 yard pieces of fabric so I can play around and get better...but I really like doing it.  I have a few more complicated patterns printed out, but I think I'll try to master this little A-line dress before I move on, haha.

I bought some more fabric and trim this week, so I'll be practicing some more tonight...when my husband works at night, he can't fuss that I'm taking up the whole room with the sewing machine and watching hours of Supernatural at a time, lol!

Sewing is therapeutic, like rehairing (imo).  Lovely work so far!
