Today (2/8) is National Girl Scout Cookie Day!

I don't let the cookie's name influence my decision to eat it! They are all yummy

I don't know the name of them....they were sandwich cookies, sort of like oreos, and they were lemon flavored.

....I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND THEM IN YEARS! D:

Sadly they stopped making them for the new lemon cookie, which in my humble opinion are nowhere near as good.  They where lemon chalets Cremes.

Me I love Do si Dos and Samoas.  Trefoils are tasty and Clone loves them and Thin Mints.  Our girls have been know to polish off a thin mint box at a booth sale more then once.

That's the name I was looking for! Yeah....man that sucks, I have a box of the new ones downstairs, but they're not as good.

I was a Brownie, so I remember me and my mom buying a ton of my boxes because we couldn't find enough people to sell them to, and they were delicious!

SAMOAS!  Oh my, I am going to miss those cookies.    Thin Mints were a close second, I loved them with ice cream.



I always made it my goal to buy at least one box from every girl scout who asks me.  May do that again this year, just to support the scouts, but I'll donate my cookies or something.

I also can't get used to the names they use now. Samoa is an island and Samoans are the inhabitants.  And I'm not eating a Do-Si-Do because it sounds like something some ditzy person made up.

That's not a new name, I was a Girl Scout from elementary school until I graduated high school and they were always called Samoas!  I think the names are (or were) regional though, as they were called something different when my family bought a box from my cousin in Indiana years ago.  Caramel-something-or-others (I can't remember exactly).  Do-Si-Do is a step in square dancing.  Again, it might be regional, as those are the names those cookies have had around here for at least as long as I can remember.  Maybe they finally make all the names the same across the country?  That might be why they seem new to you.

Yep, they did start using the names across the country, my mom and grandma are girl scout leaders. I think the boxes still have the other names on them also, like caramel delights.
