G2 pony clothes?
« on: March 16, 2013, 03:59:36 PM »
I'm wondering about G2 clothing. Am I right in thinking there were sets of clothes sold independently of ponies? Like with G1 pony wear.

I'm seem to remember seeing a dino costume... maybe....

So if I was looking to buy these, if they exist as I think they do, what should I be thinking about saving to pay? Do they come up loose or MOC? Is there a list of which ones exist as my googling can't find anything ?

Thanks everypony ^_^

Hello,
To answer your question the did end up selling a couple outfits loose for the g2 line. You have a bear, frog, Dino, and a bunny. I'm not to positive on the prices but I think a fair value for them could range btw $3-5 loose and MOC $10-15. Sorry about that, I was thinking of the moc pony like waterlily and forgot it came with the pony.  I was mostly focusing on the outfit and some how forgot about the pony.

I thought the Dino, Bear, Bunny and Frog costumes came with the Fancy Dress Ball ponies. And were not sold seperately. I could be wrong but here are the links to them.

I couldn't see the links (most likely my comp) but I looked on mylittlewiki  and there are ponies underneath those clothes! Maybe I just saw bad angles and didn't see the pony.

So If I wanted these, because they are like onsies for poniesm would I still expect to pay they same as blonde2themax suggests?

I just found a MOC separate dragon costume on Ebay. I'll look to see if the others are there too.

Whoops! Nevermind! It's the G1 dragon costume

Actually these are some of the more sought-after G2's so paying $50+ MOC and $30+ loose isn't unreasonable, although there are places to get better deals. It's possible you'll find the suits alone in accessory sets but your best bet is to keep alerts set on eBay U.K. and eBay France (and you'll need the French names set on the French alerts). I find that with French eBay, most sellers who set their auctions to only ship within France are more than willing to change their auction settings to let me bid when I explain that I'm happy to pay shipping (which is up to $18 sometimes so be sure to factor that in). Your eBay settings might not let you see the auctions when you're logged in, so search eBay.fr without logging in until you need to contact someone.

There are WAY more G2's available in France and the U.K. than anywhere else ;)

Those are some of my favorite sets, but as mentioned they only came with a pony.  I have never seen any G2 outfits sold separately.  I have a few flyers from that era as well and there is nothing in it.  G1 was the only era that it was done for.

If your just looking for the outfit I'd say it's possible to get the outfit fairly cheap I saw this auction recently come up and no one bid. I paid around $15-25 for my ponies.   http://www.ebay.com/itm/MY-LITTLE-PONY-G2-Water-Lily-FROG-OUTFIT-complete-with-Comb-/190803743840

I did think they were separate, but I'm realising that it was probably me not noticing the pony inside the costume. And if you haven't seen anything on flyers from then it's just me being mad! lol

Thanks for the info/advice. Looks like I need to save up a bit first before starting to look though. Though as Blonde2themax showed if I'm lucky I might find one cheaper.

Thanks everyone for helping ^_^!

It could be the Argie pony wear which you are thinking of? They were animal outfits sold as singles on cards [they were the G1 baby dress ups - bunny and dino and a green version of the elephant].

They are some of the more hard to find and sought after G2s which these outfits come with but as with G2s in general they dont always tend to have hit the ceiling prices. Its not so much they tend to be really expensive and more that they dont come up too often. A MOC set of them has been on ebay for ages now and not selling at the BIN set because its much too high. If you are patient and look in on Euro ebays, you should with patience manage to pick them up for $20-22 loose and complete.
