Sea Pony Re Hair Gone Bad, Please Help!
« on: January 20, 2013, 09:17:13 AM »
I Had gotten this Baby Sea pony Celebration, her hair was crumbling, frizzy, and mostly gone. I tried using my Fake Purple hair extender, It sticks up it wont tame. Its a real mess. I can order from dolly hair.com get the color "Wisteria" the price of that plus shipping is $7.00
Or I could find a bait like Blossom that has the same hair color and use that. I am wondering what is the cheapest way to go.
Help! I dont know what to do.

I bet ordering hair is cheaper, and you'll be happier with the results.

Maybe post in the Dollyhair trade thread and see if someone could sell you a hank of Wisteria? I guess that would be cheaper than ordering directly from DH, if it's only one hank you need.  :)

you could try pouring boiling water over it first and see if it'll lay down...=]

I echo the advice to try boiling water--wrap the head in plastic or a towel immediately afterward to hold the hair down as it cools.  Sometimes this works with cheaper hair.  Unfortunately it's often thicker/coarser, so doesn't lie as nicely as original MLP hair.

You can also see if someone has a donor tail in the color you want; sometimes people save tails from baits for restorations.  Donor hair can be rough, though, if it's had some wear.

Looking for a donor tail would probably be cheapest, but often donor hair can have some frizz. If it were me, I'd order hair. I think you'd be more pleased with the results in the end.

Really you probably only need 1/4 hank for such a small project.  I'll see what I have around.
