Yup! Another time to party!

Tonight is Chinese new year's eve!

I'm expected not to sleep before 3am because of all the fireworks lighting! Sounds like the city is under attack but it's fun once you're used to it.

Well, I'm just done with the prayers to the Sky God (that's basically the Big Kahuna- the main god). Yes, it has to be done between midnight and sunrise, exact time determined by Feng Shui. If only I can get some sleep now- aside from my usual worries causing me insomnia, it sounds like a freaking war zone out there (even though the government has pretty much banned fireworks here, most people just give them the pooh-pooh). Red packets with mucho moolahs awaits me in the morning tho...

So yeah, Happy Chinese New Year.

The school I worked at in Houston had a huuuuuuge celebration for Asian New Year (we had a large Vietnamese student population.)  We'd have dancers, parties, and red envelopes everywhere.
