More Questions on Star Wars stuff
« on: January 24, 2013, 05:01:41 PM »
I've got more questions.  I hope you guys have the answers!

How would you smooth the rough spots out that were caused when we tried Acetone to get the marker off of him?

We got these two clones at a thrift store and they both had a lot of black Sharpie all over them! How do you get that sort of stuff of a clone figure?

Is this an odd occurrence, the black body-glove that you see on this guy is glossy?!

Would sunfading work maybe? For rough spots maybe a fine sand paper?

a very fine grit sandpaper, used very gently with water .. i'm talking FINE F INE FINE sandpaper like the kind they use as a final sanding on car paint kind of fine ... very careful work with an x-acto blade can help remove some of the flakey chunks ... acetone doesn't like many SW figures ...

as for the glossy aspect, it really depends on when the figure was released, what set it was released in, and what wave/series it was in.

Be careful with the sandpaper.  It will work but as said above it has to be the finest one you can get ahold of.  Anything bigger will scratch and show up on the surface

I would also recommend the Rebelscum forum as a great resource if you're going to get into Star Wars figures as a hobby :)  Those guys know everything about them.

Thanks! The two that I got at a thrift store are going to become two of my OCs. I hope this works! I got the one with the glossy body glove in a 2012-released set from Toys R Us. He came with a BRAC speeder bike, if that info helps anyone.
