Okay, so a few weeks ago I got a model/toy TARDIS in a charity shop (I've been looking for a while, this was the first one I found that wasn't busted up/missing decals ect)

And it looks like it's meant to make sound, there is a speaker on one side, and what looks like a battery hatch/door but there's no visible way to open it, it's like its bolted shut. Like there's a small circle but instead of a screw there's a piece of plastic.  But the base has four small phillip's head screws. So I'm guessing undoing that would be the most likely way to open it up.

Has anyone pulled something like this apart before? I'm tempted to see if I can find if the batteries are replaceable but I've never done something like this before.

do you have pics to help anyone identify what tardis it is? ... some of them look like they were supposed to do soemthing, but as a cheaper mdel had no inner workings to do anything ... but everything else was the same ...

pics would be a good place to start unless you want to try cracking open the base ... but usually somewhere on it it would say "requires xxxxxxxx batteries" or something ... and then sometimes the batteries that are built into something aren't to be replaced ... i HATE that ... lol

good luck :)

I'll sort out some pictures, I have a feeling if it is batteries it's the 'can't be replaced kind' and if so, oh well. XD

That sounds like the model I have. Do the front doors push inward? Do you see the inside of the TARDIS? If you look at the floor inside, do you see a rectangular button on the floor? It's hard to spot because it blends and is flush with the floor. That's for the door. There is a second identical button that is used for the sounds and stuff, but will be nonfuntional on this one. Anyway, if it is that model than it is like mine and won't have sounds or a functional battery compartment. A more expensive model has those features. This one does have a little manual spinny bit. On the underside is an indentation for a finger. Put a finger in the indent, and spin the TARDIS using the light on top.

Ah that sounds just like the one I have. I will get some pictures. I admit I actually use it to store my phone and wallet so I don't loose it. XD
